Ultrasounds for Biological Applications and Materials Science

Sost Wine

This is an INNPACTO project funded by the “Ministerio de Economia y cometitividad” and the EU FEDER fund through the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) which is a Spanish Public Business Entity which fosters the technological development and innovation of Spanish companies.

Title:  Development of a non-invasive ultrasonic system for the vine water status assessment and optimization of water supply.

Objective: The general objective of the project is to develop a system based on ultrasound technology, simple and non-invasive, that allows obtaining direct information from the plant about their water needs. Thus, based on this information, the downward adjustment of water consumption in different vegetative phases of the crop will be assessed, so that the quality of the final wine is maintained and even improved.

Duration: 2012-2015.
