Kick off meeting of our poject ULTRATEX will take place tomorrow in Madrid.
In collaboration with Polytechnic Univ. of Valencia and group SIRO, the project will take place during 2018-2021 with a budget of 695.000 euros.
This project will introduce our air-coupled ultrasonic technology to the texture characterization of food products in the fabrication line. Introduction of air-coupled ultrasound to the food industry is a promising field because this technique can guarantee non-contact, non-contamination and is, therefore, fully compatible with the highest food safety, and security standards.
Though food products use to present a very high attenuation coefficient, our high sensitivity air-coupled transducers can provide a SNR capable to avoid this problem. The piezoelectric nature of these transducers provide them a robustness high enough to be used in industrial environments, and the wide frequency banwidth permit to use them for a wide range of applications.
